Terms of Service
The rules of using A POS, in plain words. Last updated August 2026.
The agreement
These terms are between you (the business using the service) and Amateta Systems. By creating an account or using the software you agree to them.
Your account
You are responsible for who you give access to and what they do with it. Create a separate login for each member of staff rather than sharing one — the audit trail is only useful if it says who actually did something. Keep passwords and PINs to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.
Plans and payment
Monthly plans are billed in advance and run until you cancel. A lifetime licence is a once-off payment for the desktop till on a single computer. Prices are shown on the Pricing page and include VAT where it applies.
If a subscription payment is not made we may suspend the account. A suspended account can still be reinstated and your data is not deleted — you simply cannot sell on it until the payment is settled. We will tell you before it happens.
Your free trial
New accounts get a free trial with no card required. When it ends you choose a plan or the account pauses. Nothing is charged automatically at the end of a trial.
Your data is yours
Your products, sales, customers and reports belong to you. You can export them at any time from inside the app. We only use them to run the service for you — see the Privacy Policy. If you leave, ask us and we will delete your data.
What we will do
Keep the service running, keep your data backed up, fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can, and answer you when you ask for help. The desktop till is designed to keep selling with no internet, so an outage on our side does not stop your shop trading.
What we cannot promise
We cannot promise the service will never be unavailable. Hosting, networks and hardware fail. We also cannot be responsible for losses caused by your own hardware failing, by data entered incorrectly, or by anything outside our reasonable control. Our liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
Fair use
Use the service for your own business. Do not resell it, do not attempt to break into it or into other businesses' data, and do not use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.
Hardware
Hardware we supply carries the manufacturer's warranty. Hardware you supply yourself is your own responsibility, though we will help you get it working where we can.
Cancelling
You can cancel a monthly plan at any time and it runs to the end of the period you have paid for. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term.
Changes to these terms
If we change them we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects you we will tell you before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
Not sure how something applies to your shop? Ask us — we would rather explain it now than argue about it later.
